TDCF recently conducted a caregiver assistance and training program focused on dementia care for elders. The session aimed to provide caregivers with valuable insights into the unique challenges of caring for individuals with dementia. The event featured expert speakers, including Mr. Vivek Misra, who discussed neuromodulation interventions and their role in dementia care; Mrs. Kalpana Viswanath, who shared her expertise on appropriate diets for dementia patients; Ms. Varshinee Krishnan, who provided guidance on behavior modification techniques to manage common behavioral challenges; and Mrs. Priyadharshini, who focused on fall prevention and the importance of physiotherapy in supporting dementia patients' mobility.
Throughout the session, caregivers learned strategies to enhance communication, promote independence, and ensure the safety and comfort of those living with dementia. This initiative aimed not only to boost the caregivers' professional development but also to improve the overall quality of care for elders with dementia in the community.
