Care Assistance Training Series [C.A.T.S].


On 10th October, Thursday, The Dementia Care Foundation (TDCF), initiated the first ongoing Care Assistance Training Series (C.A.T.S) which focused on empowering caregivers with adequate practical training on caring for an Elder with Dementia.

The speakers of the Care Assistance Training Series (C.A.T.S) were
Ms.Poornima Rajan Poornima Rajan (Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist) who spoke about the Faces of Dementia
Mr. Murali Krishnan Murali Krishnan (Occupational Therapist) who spoke on Caring for Elders with Visual and Hearing Difficulties.
Mrs . Reshma Aleem (Senior Registered Dietician) who spoke about the Dietary cares and challenges of Elders with Dementia
Mr. Sanjay Dattatri(Founder of Old is Gold Stores) spoke about coping with challenges of ageing - daily living aids and products for Elders
A very interesting talk about the Caregivers perspective by Mrs Sudha Meiyappan (Founder of Parivarthan for Parkinson's Foundation)
The session ended with a talk on the Medical and Mental Health Checklist for caregivers to have keep in record by Madhumita Shankar.

The participants included Caregivers, nurses and staff from Nightingales Home Health Services, Unicare Home Nursing Services, Sirina Home Health Care, Radiant Home Health Care, Udhavi Foundation and members from Indian Prostate Cancer Foundation.
